About
My Story
I’m a midwestern girl who joined the Air Force in 2002 and married a military guy in 2003. I got out of the military in 2004 to go to school, while my husband has remained active duty. We have been blessed to travel the world for work and fun.
My husband, Sean, and I have two boys: a biological son named Findlay who is powered by an exceptionally loud monster truck engine, and the sweetest special-needs son you could ever meet, Coen, whom we adopted from China. Both boys were born in 2013 and are 32 days apart.
My days are filled with homeschooling, food prep and countless snacks, cleaning, errands, and prayer (to stay sane!). I’m often in the car, shuttling the boys to their various weekly appointments which include occupational, physical, speech, and feeding therapies.
We eat homecooked meals each night, I read Victorian novels and modern non-fiction, I write fiction, I hike with my family every chance I get, and I find joy in simple things: reading to my kids, making my husband smile, and sweeping the floors. (I might be a lot OCD when it comes to keeping my house tidy.)
I enjoy encouraging mamas to be the best and most godly wives, mothers, and women they can be. In a world where women are told to find their identities outside the home (career, education, etc.), I love it when they instead find their identity in Christ and their purpose in their family.
While my life has never been more hectic and less about “me” than it is now, I have also never been more joyful or satisfied!
Please feel free to message me if you ever want to chat. I’d love to hear from you!
